As of the mid-February review period, Pirkanmaa has secured €80 million in EU funding from the Horizon Europe framework program since its inception, making it the second-largest regional recipient of funding. The majority of this funding has been successfully obtained by universities and research institutions. Among other regional actors, over one million euros in funding have been secured by Ekokumppanit OY, the City of Tampere, and the Pirkanmaa Wellbeing Services County.

To achieve the goal mentioned in the government program of doubling EU receipts, the Pirkanmaa EU Office is supporting, among other efforts, the capacity of SMEs to increase their share of the region’s EU funding recipients.
