The European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC), the largest annual event dedicated to regional and cohesion policy in Europe, will once again take place in Brussels from <\/em>12\u201314<\/em><\/strong>th<\/sup><\/em><\/strong> of October<\/em><\/strong>. Jointly organized by the European Commission\u2019s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) and the European Committee of the Regions, the event will be held at the European Parliament, the Committee of the Regions, and DG REGIO premises which will be announced later.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Council of Tampere Region, together with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland and the City of Vaasa, will organize a partner session entitled <\/em>\u201cFrom Fragmentation to Focus: Finland\u2019s Model for Urban Innovation\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, focusing on innovation cooperation between Finland\u2019s innovation cities and the state. The calendar of partner sessions and registration are now available <\/em>here<\/em><\/strong><\/a>. Information on events organized by EU institutions and registration for those sessions will be published during August. Please note that registration for the sessions requires an <\/em>EU Login<\/em><\/strong> account.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

European Week of Regions and Cities<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EWRC provides a platform where regions and cities from across Europe can showcase their expertise, exchange experiences, and present their views on the implementation of EU regional and cohesion policy. The theme of this year\u2019s event is \u201cStronger Regions, Stronger Europe.\u201d<\/strong> As competitiveness and economic growth will be at the core of EU policy in the coming years, discussions at this year\u2019s event are expected to focus strongly on how regional and local actors can contribute to economic growth, employment, and research and innovation activities together with the EU. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The week will bring together a wide range of participants, including representatives of regional and local authorities, EU policymakers, experts, researchers, and journalists. The programme will feature a diverse selection of sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities, providing a forum for sharing best practices, building new connections, and discussing current topics and challenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
