The investments aim to strengthen Europe\u2019s defence capabilities and strategic autonomy across a range of defence and security domains, with a particular focus on supporting research and development. Now that the selected projects have been announced, the Commission aims to sign grant agreements with the consortia developing the solutions by the end of the year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u202fFinnish organisations are well represented among the funded projects. Finnish companies and higher education institutions are involved in a total of\u00a0<strong>12 consortia<\/strong>\u00a0that have been selected for funding. Several organisations based in the Pirkanmaa region are participating in these consortia, including\u00a0<strong>VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd<\/strong>, optronics manufacturer\u00a0<strong>Senop Oy<\/strong>, protective equipment manufacturer\u00a0<strong>FY-Composites Oy<\/strong>, and smart technology developer\u00a0<strong>Insta ILS Oy<\/strong>.
